I am a contemporary artist, now working primarily in oils. Much of my work reflects my frustration with the current neoliberal economic system and its detrimental effect on creativity and society as a whole. The narrative of my work is hidden behind a realistic candy-coated facade of colourful expression, hiding its true face. You must look beneath. I encourage you to. Based in Scotland, my practice encompasses both gallery-exhibited paintings and commissioned illustration.
With 40 years of professional experience in both traditional illustration and fine art, I have developed a distinctive style that combines classical painting techniques with contemporary themes and narratives. My fine art pieces explore the interplay of colour, texture and form, whilst expressing a clear narrative.
I began my life as a creative practitioner forty years ago, working as a graphic designer, before moving into traditional illustration at a time when the wave of digital media began to irrevocably change the creative landscape. Towards the close of the twentieth century I began to create my own fine art works. The majority of my output is now devoted to my fine art practice. My work has been sold across Europe and North America and is held in private collections worldwide.

I work from my light-filled studio in Northeast Scotland, where i divide my time between fine art painting and illustration projects. My process begins with extensive research and sketching, followed by careful consideration of color palettes and composition before committing to the final piece.
